For Josh

Heads were spinning, your typewriter clicks
The genius pouring, outta your wits
Linda Blair vomiting; “You Cunting Whore” ***
Like a metronome tocking, begging for more!

As I selfishly tended, my everyday chores
Trying to fix desperately, what I didn’t adore
Keeping up the mask, permeating my face
Wiping reality, off of it’s stage.

Where, under same roof
Bunked beds stacked high,
I remember that night,
We both said “Let’s Fly”

Bolting out of NC, in Favor of York
So many firsts, we’d gradually uncork;
Pinball Wizards, Acid Queens
A Seven Hour Fantasia on national themes.

Singing Sweeny’s meat pies,
We belted and dreamed,
Playing the white way,
Our souls alive, beamed.

You did it buddy, you beat us to the punch
You Tom Sawyered your way, aheada’ the bunch.
“You’re the perfect combination of Innocence & Spunk”
The New York Times heralded, (and not to debunk!)

Imprint made,
On everyones lives
Reminding us all,
How quickly time flies.

I’m thankful most
For the brief time we shared;
That Toast we made
Atop a’ Times Square;
“This is it”, We screamed, “The now, right here!
Take it for it’s worth - Laugh in the face of fear!”
Need to remind myself daily, of then
Young and bright, Cocky Wise Men!

Oh Prodigal Son, you’ll surely be missed
In this physical plane, I’ll forever remiss
That dinner we planned, that never took place

Table set now, in The Light’s sacred grace.

Get Up Again / Time To Fly

In the thick of it,
Like the mud and the stick in it
You can’t seem to get up, out
But like a warrior, you fight
The plaguing
doubt.

A nice little gift,
Given from the stars,
Packaged neatly
With wounds and scars.

Process, a part of
The race to rise, fly above
Gracious, to the edge
Knowing full well,
The blossoming sedge.

Of the Rib, We are cast
Back to back, at half mast
Wanting quickly, to turn around
Whiplash,
That Crash and Burn Sound.

Only then can you stand,
Eye to Eye, Hand to hand
Cry for another, with so much heart
One foot in front the other,
You begin a new start.

You get up again,
Over and Over
Next time, clearer,
Full Disclosure.
Get up again.

Next October.

Alchemy and Exile

The sun set,
From henceforth, I beget
All the lust and Courage
Liquid
I Find myself
Remiss.
Is all this, that is?

What you can't see
Won't get you in trouble
Feeling my way
In a deep dark bubble,
Desperation wealth
Black holed drowned,
Uncanny Stealth.
Pretentiously Profound.

Driven out, Miles away
Trying desperately
To find my way,
At this point,
My only hope
Turn metal to gold
light it up,
smoke that dope.

I've been here before,
Under these stars
I've wondered these hills,
been surfing on Mars
Every time I try to make it back,
I get stuck
in the crack

of Lack.

Surviving The Reign

Ofttimes we just need, someone averring;
“It’s okay to feel that way, I understand you’re fearing”
Like a hallowed hole
In your ozone layer,
Piercing your soul,
Like a dragon slayer.

Now I contemplate, imagine
What might be, If loss
Wasn’t real or unfathomed.
A distorted reality, someone else’ lives
Another planet;
Everyone survives.

But really, what gives
Oh, This physical sieve
Where our spirit morphs,
In this continuum, we live.

Purple pills to ease the pain,
Gross intoxicants, polluting your reign.
Dragging crutches, chairs that are wheeled
All those pain meds - from vigor they
Steal.
It is US who is sick
Laid up in our Beds,
Grief stricken long faces,
Awaiting our death.

If we could see now,
Them dancing in bliss,
Surrounded by love
No longer remiss.
Like lawyers in, the upper worlds
Adjudicating our actions, as they unfurl
Praying for success, unconditional love
As we stumble and fumble in this grey dark world.

Transform our pain,
Into celebration,
Wish them well,
Their next incarnation.
No matter the hurt
Or burden we feel,
We’re new again,
Because they were real.

CHANGE, THE SAME

Pry
Open my eyes that insist,
Pain
Why
Ask questions? answers
Same.
Shy,
Nerves shot, cellular screen
Blamed.
Cry,
Am I who doesn't dream
Named?
Sty
Twitching. Sewing torn up
Fame
Eyes
Watching, destiny deemed
Tamed
Fried.

Chasingcorrectionfalsetoaffectionperpetualneglectionteaching

Imperfection.

The Marathon

You wonder, "Where am I going?"
on this never-ending marathon,
begin to ask yourself,
"So, where have I gone wrong?"

There's nothing that's happened,
here or the past,
that'll stop you from living,
this moment
at last.

We take a deep breath,
Let go all our fears,
Stop judging ourselves
Stop counting the years.

There you are, I smile in your direction
Cheering you on, with love and affection
Together we run, one foot in front 'another
We're in this to win, my good friend and brother.

Monotony crawls, as our hearts start racing,
Looking for validation, panic becomes pacing,
All in the all, Momentum gives rise,
What we're looking for now,  is a bold new prize.

Heading toward the finish line,
that never seems to come.
looking for the ribbon,
to assure you that you've won.

We've already succeeded,
If we're living in the now.
The past has been forgotten,
THAT we must allow.

The future is unwritten,
and we are the scribe,
Don't waste too much time
with that ole' dull bribe.

Be YOU, in the HERE
Be THROUGH, with the FEAR
Grant GRACE to your Scars.
EMRACE who you ARE!

Only then you will know,
It was all worth the fight
We did it together,
That made it all right.

Reality Plague

Famous for,What?
Kardash-ion
Fashion?
Material possession of
Weezus-like
Man-sion.

Reality Plague,
feeding the guise,
The vague.
Making up your mind;
how great it is to live,
that life of
"Sublime"

Guilty America,
your void of
Reality,
Your remote control fatality.
Snap, Crackle, Pop -
There goes the
morality.

Royals,
but with no heirs,
Crowns bought
Only for stares;
But who is to blame?
Not just them.
We tune in,
everyday
We watch their every
whim.

Desperate,
That's for sure.
No invite to their fancy parties,
We sit on the other side of the glass fence,
Salivating Heartily.

With Hunger Games Revere,
Keeping score,
Personal responsibility
clear,
(This is what I fear).

Like boxers in the ring,
Who takes the belt,
(Measured in bling!)
Or Fox Fur Pelt.

BRAVO!
You've done it again.
Managed to escape
The world
You live
In.

Perception (Gap)

The Gap
Mind it.
The tiny (or not so)
Space,
Contrast
Of grace and
Our REAL
Face.

Between;
Who we are,
Really
And what is
Seen.
The clean (or not so)
And the
Mean.

'Poretance
Of those pesky holes
Dancing
With, "Who are we?"
And who we want to
Be.

The reflection
In the mirror;
Perception of
Our
Complexion.

Expression-less
When we don't become
That which we've been
Blessed.

Hard to Swallow Pills

You know its jagged
Rough.
Sweet and divine.
The quick Fix Pill
A tall glass of wine.

Whine, too
complaining  - numbing the pain,
Telling yourself
"It's not my fault"
Protesting;
"Not to blame"

"Give me the Advil,
The ecstacy,
The thrill"
Give you the hangover,
you know that it will.

Everything,
has it's price,
Innocuous, it's not-
Without it's great wise.

Addict.
That's right,
don't be afraid to admit
dependant.
Without it,
Convulsing and Repulsing,
You'll go into fit.

Running in circles,
we claim no control,
But-
Look to each other,
Piece together, the whole.

No one is alone,
(though we all think we are)
Let's lean on each other,
Not for crutch or for car.

For support,
in our struggle-
getting through life,
Reminding each other
There's no wrong or right.

A hand will do,
(Not filled with narcotic)
An arm around,
not sensible or quixotic.

Love for no reason,
a hard swallow, I know
but when we get to this point,
all that other shit blows.

Come What May

Time to take my own advice,
The making excuses, swatting at flies.
Speedy recovery, from the wounded soul
get up, start over
pick up the pieces to the whole.

From all our ashes, a phoenix will rise
irregardless, how great our demise
We'll all be free one day,
to rock the Kasbah -
Dance, Sing & Play
In the penthouse at the Plaza!

Tom Ford tux for no rational,
Lunch everyday, at the National.
Pixie Dust and cotton candy clouds,
Children run wild, utterly wowed.

You'll feel it - that Love for no reason,
irrelevant our mood, or Winter season.
To our soul, we'll stay glued
instead of thinking,
"God, I'm Screwed"!

But first,
the work must begin.
Saw out the rib,
that original sin.

From back to back
to face to face,
blind faith
and to do so, with grace.

The trumpet will sound,  the vessel will shatter
The day is approaching, above physical matter.

The prolonged neglect of, "come what may"
the waiting and waiting for "That Special Day"
Above time, above space
It's all here and now,
So to it,
Through the illusions we shall plow.

For now, the work commences
dig deeper and deeper,
amend your offenses.

Forgive others,
forgive yourself
Don't rest on your laurels
or get caught up in your wealth.

Wipe the slate clean, check the gate
Edit the movie, set the record straight.
Who you are, is who you are meant to become
It's up to you, to join forces with
The One.
