The Marathon

You wonder, "Where am I going?"
on this never-ending marathon,
begin to ask yourself,
"So, where have I gone wrong?"

There's nothing that's happened,
here or the past,
that'll stop you from living,
this moment
at last.

We take a deep breath,
Let go all our fears,
Stop judging ourselves
Stop counting the years.

There you are, I smile in your direction
Cheering you on, with love and affection
Together we run, one foot in front 'another
We're in this to win, my good friend and brother.

Monotony crawls, as our hearts start racing,
Looking for validation, panic becomes pacing,
All in the all, Momentum gives rise,
What we're looking for now,  is a bold new prize.

Heading toward the finish line,
that never seems to come.
looking for the ribbon,
to assure you that you've won.

We've already succeeded,
If we're living in the now.
The past has been forgotten,
THAT we must allow.

The future is unwritten,
and we are the scribe,
Don't waste too much time
with that ole' dull bribe.

Be YOU, in the HERE
Be THROUGH, with the FEAR
Grant GRACE to your Scars.
EMRACE who you ARE!

Only then you will know,
It was all worth the fight
We did it together,
That made it all right.
